If you’ve ever admired the slick, emotive product photography and motion behind some of our client projects, chances are, you’ve witnessed the quiet magic of S8 Studios.
We recently sat down with Rita and Bruno, the duo behind our creative space in Braga, Portugal, to talk about how the studio came to be, how they collaborate, and why, in an AI-dominated world, there's still no replacing the real thing.
From passion to purpose
For Bruno, photography started as a side passion—a hobby born at mountain bike races with a group of mates and a camera. Rita, on the other hand, traces her love for photography back to her dad.

“He wasn't a professional, but he loved taking film photos of us growing up, displaying them around the house—and he was really good at it. We even used to have a tiny film developing studio tucked inside a cupboard at home. So that was my first contact with it, and I think that’s what first got me curious.”
The post-pandemic spark
So, how did Series Eight end up with a full-blown photography studio?

“It was a post-Covid thing. I was working from home in a small one-bed flat and honestly just started feeling isolated. I told Mario (Co-Founder & CEO) I needed a change—a new environment—and that maybe we could add photography as a service.”
The initial vision? It was a tiny studio room. But with support from our CEO, Mario, and CMO, Dimitris, Bruno’s idea grew…substantially.

“They pushed me to find a bigger space, something that could scale. When we found the spot in Braga, it just made sense.”

Gear, guts, and growing together
Rita and Bruno’s collaboration is what makes it sing. Bruno brings the tech mastery (no wonder Rita calls him a total geek), while Rita leads on styling and direction.

“I figure out the kind of lighting we’ll need, and Bruno knows exactly how to bring it to life. That’s pretty much how we work—of course, we support each other too. Sometimes I’ll help with the setup, and sometimes Bruno chips in with creative direction."
The human touch in an AI world
In a time where AI-generated imagery is everywhere, you may be wondering, what makes real photography still so relevant and so essential? Here’s Rita and Bruno’s take on it.

“Control and emotion. Photography lets us control the exact look and feel. You can’t get that with AI.”

“And especially in e-commerce, people want to see the real thing. AI is powerful, but it doesn’t always capture the product’s true essence. Photography still wins when it comes to light, texture, and that human element.”

A mission that connects the dots
For the team, the studio isn’t just about taking pretty pictures—it’s the glue that connects Series Eight’s full-service offering and creates a seamless experience for clients who want everything under one roof.

“We already do branding, web, and marketing. Photography completes that. Without strong imagery, even the best website can fall flat—especially with minimal design. This way, we control the visuals from start to finish. And because everything happens in-house, we’re not chasing down multiple agencies for assets or waiting days for replies. It keeps the process smooth, fast, and cohesive for our clients.”
Eyes on the future
Looking ahead, the team has its sights set on levelling up—with bigger, bolder shoots that bring every detail to life. Think full production: models, makeup, styling, outdoor shooting, and more.
The goal isn’t just to create great content, but to lead fully integrated projects where branding, web, marketing and photography all work in harmony. Because S8 Studio isn’t just a physical space. It’s a creative hub. And a reminder that when everything connects, the results are unforgettable.
